Rita Kay's Story
Life
After graduate school at University of Denver, I was a school librarian in France when I met a young Air Force officer who has been my husband for 41 years. We have lived in France, Germany, and Japan, and have settled in San Antonio where I retired five years ago so I could spend more time with my 8 grandchildren. I enjoy gardening and reading and am a huge fan of the TCU Horned Frogs and the San Antonio Spurs. f old friends. Most of our trips are to places way cooler than San Antonio in the summer. However, since retirement we are no longer limited to summertime trips.
My school district, Northside ISD in San Antonio, has just voted to name an elementary school which will open in 2007 the Rita Kay Driggers Elementary School. I have been "on cloud nine" ever since I heard the news! Who would think that a school would be named for a school librarian???
My life has been truly blessed, and I am grateful every day for God's goodness to our family.
